Gov. Jerry Brown in February appointed John Boule as the chief IT strategist for the California Health and Human Services Agency. As director of the Office of Systems Integration, Boule manages a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of large, complex health and human services information technology projects. He moved to California government from San Bernardino County, where he had worked as director of the California Statewide Automated Welfare System, Consortium IV since 2005. He also worked at the First Data Corp. and the Arizona Department of Economic Security. Boule replaced Deborah Rose, who retired at the end of December.
