Story #24: Rebecca Skarr, a 20-year veteran of state government information technology, in January became the CIO at the Department of General Services. She previously has worked as the Manager of Solutions Services at the California State Teachers Retirement System, headed statewide initiatives at the Office of Systems Integration, and held several positions at the California Department of Mental Health. Skarr also worked in the private industry as a contract developer and systems analyst at GTE Sprint in Burlingame. She replaced Jeff Funk who left the position in the summer of 2013.
