Story #5: By a 33-0 vote, the state Senate in May confirmed Carlos Ramos as director of the California Department of Technology. It was Ramos’ second confirmation as state technology czar. The 2013 government reorganization triggered the requirement that Ramos be approved as director again. Ramos previously held the position of secretary of the California Technology Agency.
