3 Tech Leaders to Speak at Los Angeles County Member Briefing

The June 6 event in Rowland Heights will feature the chief information officer and assistant auditor-controller for the county Auditor-Controller’s Office; the general manager of IT Services for the county’s Internal Services Department; and the county’s chief data officer.

Three technology leaders from Los Angeles County government will speak at an Industry Insider California Member Briefing next month.

Save the date: On June 6, Industry Insider members will hear from IT leaders of the largest county in the U.S. by population, which has an overall annual budget of over $47 billion and an estimated IT budget of over $940 million.

Majida Adnan, chief information officer and assistant auditor-controller, L.A. County Department of Auditor-Controller. The Auditor-Controller is the department responsible for establishing county fiscal and internal control policies and procedures; administering the county payroll; conducting audits and fraud investigations; monitoring social services contracts; performing mandated property tax functions; disbursing warrants to vendors, child support recipients, judgment and damages to claimants; and managing the county’s enterprise financial and payroll systems, eCAPS and eHR.

Mirian Avalos, general manager of Information Technology Services (ITS) for L.A. County’s Internal Services Department (ISD). She will discuss ITS, which delivers reliable and secure solutions to support L.A. County’s technology needs and provide services to a workforce of more than 70,000 employees in over 40 county departments. ITS has a technology workforce of more than 1,000 employees and a budget of $330 million and develops and implements technologies for a vast range of public services, including animal care, parks, law enforcement and social services.

Pailma is responsible for data management, analytics and research to support two strategic missions: improving the delivery of county services through data integration and sharing; and supporting data-driven decision-making and increased information maturity through analysis, research and information management platforms.
