Agencies Recruiting for Research Data Manager, Software Developer

The recruitments are being conducted by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and the Department of General Services. Application deadlines for both positions are next week.

Two state agencies are recruiting for technology specialty positions.

The state Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is recruiting for a research data manager to oversee the Market Monitoring, Consumer Research, Insights and Analytics Office. Responsibilities, according to the job posting, include:

  • Plan and manage financial industry research projects, including project planning and development, topic identification, sourcing data, data collection, data validation and data development.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with federal and state government entities, industry, universities and research partnerships.
  • Identify areas where partner data can be utilized, and other areas where DFPI’s original research would contribute to consumer protection.
  • Write, edit and direct the creation of content and reports to inform and shape public policy efforts.
  • Establish new function within the DFPI, including talent acquisition, budgeting, and establishing policies and documentation.
The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters. The department also licenses and regulates financial service providers including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders.

The Department of General Services is recruiting for a developer (IT specialist I) for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products who would serve as the technical lead on the architecture, development, operation and maintenance of COTS software systems and custom applications in the Enterprise Application Management unit.

“This position conducts studies to independently define and design software solutions, identifies systems requirements, and recommends appropriate technology that meets the unique needs of the Office of State Publishing, in accordance with established policies and procedures for software development, change management, and application administration,” the job posting says. The DGS opening has a monthly salary range of $5,562 to $8,999, and the application deadline is Feb. 25.
