Agencies Seek Candidates for Key Leadership Roles

The Office of Technology and Solutions Integration is recruiting for an assistant deputy director, and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research is seeking a chief information security officer.

State departments are recruiting for key executive positions.

The Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (OTSI), formerly the Office of Systems Integration, is seeking an assistant deputy director (Career Executive Assignment) to help deliver a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System with Child Welfare Digital Services.

This is “a unique collaboration” involving OTSI and its parent organization, the California Health and Human Services Agency, as well as the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and California’s counties and tribes, according to the job posting.

CHHS’ agency chief information officer, Adam Dondro, summarized the position in a LinkedIn post this week: “Come join what I consider to be the largest, most complex, and most meaningful IT effort going on in the State of CA right now!” wrote Dondro, who’s also the OTSI director. “We’re looking for an Assistant Deputy Director to help deliver a brand new Child Welfare System to workers across the state so they can keep our children safe and well cared for. You will get to work directly with the workers who will be using the system and see the real impact you will have on thousands of children.”

More details about the position are available in the duty statement. The role has a monthly salary range of $11,102 to $13,226, and the application deadline is July 29.

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, which serves the governor and his Cabinet as the comprehensive long-range planning agency for the state, is recruiting for a chief information security officer (IT Manager II). The CISO will be responsible for formulating and administering organizational IT security and privacy policies and programs, among other duties, and will report to the chief information officer.

“As a member of executive management, the CISO provides security leadership experience to manage OPR’s cybersecurity and risk management programs to meet confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its assets,” the job posting says. The role includes responsibility for all OPR offices, client agencies and security governance, as well as compliance of its IT that supports critical lines of business, security, privacy requirements and regulations.

More information about the role is available in the duty statement. The position has a monthly salary range of $10,421 to $12,668, and the application deadline is July 29.
