Application Architect, Project Manager Roles in Recruitment

The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is seeking an application architect “for a challenging, exciting lead role in an agile environment” who will be responsible for “facilitating Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives) and guiding team members on Power Platform projects,” according to the job posting. Additional duties include:
  • Apply agile principles to improve team productivity and efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design, develop and support power platform applications and solutions using proven coding standards, best practices and software principles.
  • Perform research to analyze complex problems, identify root causes and resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Foster collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work with interdepartmental stakeholders to define project requirements, scope and timelines.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking an IT project manager to be “responsible for managing the most complex, sensitive and highly visible IT projects for the Administrative Solutions division.”

According to the job posting, “This position interacts with high-level CDCR executives, program staff and external stakeholders and is responsible for the oversight of all phases and aspects of project management and system development life cycles to ensure efficient and effective delivery of project objectives.”

Desirable qualifications for the role, according to the job listing and duty statement, include:
  • PMP certification and project management experience leading large-scale IT projects.
  • Experience in agile methodology and SCRUM framework.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Organized and efficient; able to work in a fast-paced, challenging, creative, and delivery-focused environment.
  • Change-management experience.
