BeyondTrust Names Industry Veteran Machado to CISO Role

BeyondTrust has named industry veteran Michael Machado to the role of chief information security officer.

The Bay Area resident has more than 20 years’ experience with global companies ranging in size from pre-IPO to Fortune 100.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the Executive Leadership Team as our new CISO,” said Janine Seebeck, CEO at BeyondTrust. “His experience and leadership will be instrumental as we embark on our next phase of growth, and Mike will help further our mission as we continue delivering best-in-class identity security solutions to our valued customers worldwide.”

In announcing Machado’s role, the company said: “As Chief Information Security Officer, he is responsible for the strategic planning, governance, and operational oversight of BeyondTrust’s information security program. He has extensive experience developing and leading security programs at high-growth technology companies.”

Machado has previously served as chief data and security officer for Shippo, leading its cybersecurity, fraud prevention and data functions; as RingCentral’s inaugural chief security officer, where he planned and executed the company’s cybersecurity, fraud prevention and trust strategies from pre-IPO through $1.3 billion in revenue; and in various security leadership positions at Cisco and WebEx.

In announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Machado said: “Excited to announce that I have joined BeyondTrust as their Chief Information Security Officer! It is an incredible honor to work with such a talented team, who are dedicated to building innovative products and making a difference in our industry.”

Machado holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business information systems from the University of Phoenix, Carnegie Mellon’s Chief Data Officer executive education certificate, and multiple security certifications.
