Bludot Names Moloney to Lead Marketing and Sales

Matthew Moloney, a career technology professional with a background in multimedia, sales and marketing, has been named director of marketing and sales by Bludot Technologies Inc.

Bludot, based in the Bay Area, focuses on building “the technology platform that powers all cities’ economic development and helps them thrive.”

Moloney’s previous affiliations have included management and leadership roles with Esper, PayIt, Spectrum Enterprise and Prestige Enterprises.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of bringing Bludot’s innovative software to economic development teams across the country,” Moloney told Industry Insider California. “Day in and day out, we see the tremendous impact it’s having from our customers. It’s why I was so eager to join this team! In California alone, we’re lucky to work with some smart, talented folks at the city of Lancaster, city of Burbank, city of Antioch and city of Dublin, to name a few.”

Bludot’s founder and CEO, Sophia Zheng, said she’s also excited to have Moloney leading sales and marketing efforts.

Moloney, who’s based in the Bay Area, says in his LinkedIn profile, “I believe that content and storytelling is truly the gasoline that makes an effective marketing engine run.”

He said he chose Bludot because the company’s mission resonated with him.

“It’s incredibly fulfilling empowering the local governments that empower their local business community — from business owners to their loyal customers,” he said. “The gov tech field is very exciting right now. There are so many talented people in government that are leveraging technology like never before. To be part of that, especially at a mission-driven company like Bludot, is a home run for someone in my position.”

Moloney received his bachelor’s degree in mass communications/media studies from the State University of New York at Oneonta, and his professional credentials include linear editing with Avid for documentary and news style post-production and training in HTML and CSS design from the American Graphics Institute. He also has a deep background in content creation, video production and design.
