CA Board of Equalization appoints chief information officer, chief technology officer and major project director

This week, Board of Equalization chairman Jerome Horton announced the appointments of key technology officials – Brenda Fleming as chief information officer, Amy Tong as chief technology officer, and Eric Steen as project director for the Centralized Revenue Opportunity System (CROS).

Details from his announcement include:

Brenda Fleming, of Sacramento, was deputy director of the Legislative Data Center since August 2003, where she developed strategic, technology, and program policies supporting the Members and leadership of the California State Senate and Assembly. Previously, Ms. Fleming was director of the California State Assembly’s Computer Services Division.

Amy Tong, of Elk Grove, was assistant division Chief of Technology Services and Support Division for the Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS) since April 2009. Previously, Ms. Tong was acting chief information officer at California’s Water Resources Control Board.

Eric Steen, of Sacramento, has worked for Trinity Technology Group since February of 2001, where he led the development of applications for the California Department of Water Resources and CalPERS. Previously, Mr. Steen had worked in application and systems development for Deloitte Consulting.
