The California Board of Equalization has won a 2013 Digital Government Achievement Award for its online registration system, eReg.
The awards are presented annually by the Center for Digital Government. The BOE received the award in the Government-to-Business category.
The eReg system was launched in June 2012 and allows taxpayers to apply for BOE permits, licenses and accounts online to reduce mailing and printing costs.
"We are excited to offer this innovative system that allows BOE to continually improve our customer service while making it easy for businesses to get started more conveniently in California," said BOE Executive Director Cynthia Bridges in a press release.
"eReg is a great service for our taxpayers that also saves agency resources," Bridges continued.
