Ternan was named to his current role last month; he had served the company as senior manager of commercial sales beginning in February 2023. He was also previously with the company from 2017 through December 2020 in a series of increasingly responsible roles: account executive, manager of outbound sales, and senior manager of outbound sales. After that, he joined Salesforce, where he served as senior manager for public sector account development and then director and head of health care and life sciences account development.
Ternan had previously been with Libertyship Capital as an analyst and equity trader; and then with LinkedIn in sales development and as an account executive.
“I was born and raised in Sacramento and have a tremendous amount of love for and pride in this city,” Ternan told Industry Insider. “As a California native, the opportunity to partner with our government IT leaders to influence change brings me a great deal of pride and sense of purpose.”
Ternan is an alumnus of Jesuit High School in Sacramento and UC Berkeley, where he received his bachelor’s degree in environmental economics and policy.
Ternan added: “I’m a lifelong Sacramento Kings fan, having fallen in love with them during the ARCO Arena era.”
