The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is looking for a contractor to provide services aimed at enhancing its Electronic Request for Personnel Action (eRPA) system.
That critical system is used to manage CAL FIRE’s classification, hiring, personnel transactions and recruitment-related workflows, according to the request for offers (RFO).
The services sought in this solicitation include improvements to the accuracy and consistency of classification and hiring data; support expanded personnel, recruitment and transaction workflows; improve transparency; address defects and enable future systematic needs related to classifications and staffing.
“The resulting enhancements will modernize the eRPA system, reduce manual workarounds, support compliance with HR processes and improve the experience of end users statewide,” the RFO reads.
CAL FIRE is responsible for massive wildfire response operations across the state, and as such, has a growing need for solutions as technologies advance and find their way into firefighting efforts.
The department’s total annual budget is more than $3.25 billion, with an estimated $120 million allocated to IT, according to Industry Navigator*.
