The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) has hired Randy Doyle to serve as its Pension Administration Solution project manager. The appointment was announced at CalSTRS’ board meeting on Thursday.

The new system will update CalSTRS’ technology and replace the present-day administration system called START, as well as six other custom-built applications surrounding the system, such as the Secure Employer Website (SEW) and myCalSTRS.
System integrator CGI is beginning work on the system this month.
"Randy [Doyle] brings more than 15 years project management experience working with a variety of state agencies implementing new technologies, modernizing legacy systems, developing strategic plans and implementing process improvements," CalSTRS said in a statement emailed to Techwire.
According to CalSTRS, Doyle is a certified project manager professional, PMP, and earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from California State University, Sacramento.
