Kari Gutierrez has retired from the state after nearly 30 years of service, her new employer Cambria Solutions CEO Robert Rodriguez has confirmed.
“We are very excited that Kari Gutierrez has joined Cambria Solutions,” said Rodriguez via email. “As our Director of Quality Assurance, Kari’s depth and breadth of technical and senior executive management experience as well as her ability to understand and address the challenges and complexities associated with implementing and managing technology will be a tremendous asset to support our clients’ needs and continue our track record of success.”
At the end of December, Gutierrez retired from the California Department of Technology where she served as deputy director of the department’s Information Technology Project Oversight and Consulting Division, a position she was appointed to by Gov. Brown in August 2013. Prior to that, she was deputy director of the department’s Professional Development Office after serving at Caltrans since 1996 in various technology positions including as acting chief information officer. She started in state service in 1985 as a programmer at the Department of Mental Health.
Headquartered in midtown Sacramento, Cambria Solutions is an IT management consulting firm with recent clients that include Caltrans, Cal eConnect and CalPERS, according to its website.
