Caltrans selects CGI to upgrade construction management system

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has selected CGI for a three-year, $13.7 million project to upgrade the department’s Construction Management System. The new system will increase efficiency and lower costs, CGI announced today.

"Caltrans is one of the first departments in California to implement a system with service-oriented architecture to increase system agility and lower both maintenance and integration costs," said Josetta Bull, Vice-President and CGI State of California Account Executive.

CGI will modernize Caltrans’ construction management business processes by automating workflow and replacing aging computer systems. The department will implement a Web-based solution that allows for mobile job site computing and enhanced abilities to manage documents and run project reports, among other features.
