CDCR Seeks Consultant for IT Projects

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is requesting offers for a network engineer virtualization, storage and server consultant. The contractor will provide technical support for several CDCR efforts.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is requesting offers for a network engineer virtualization, storage and server consultant.  

The contractor will provide technical support for several CDCR efforts.

One project the consultant will be providing expertise for is the creation and maintenance of a high availability/disaster recovery data center.

The consultant will also contribute to the analysis, configuration and implementation of the CDCR’s Data Protection Manger (DPM), NetBackup backup and restoration solutions, and provisioning limited access of specific servers to customers.

In addition to all listed above, the consultant will also contribute to the design of both private and public cloud-based services and the maintenance and design of CDCR’s deployment of Dell’s VMware products.

According to the RFO, this includes, but isn’t limited to, vSphere, vCenter, VDI Horizon, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), NSX, etc., in each of its VMWare virtual environments.

The maximum contract amount is $250,000.

Offer responses are due at 4 p.m. Sept. 1. The proposed start date is Oct. 1, with an end date of June 30, 2018.
