Two state agencies are looking to hire IT specialists.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is looking for a chief (IT Manager II) of the Office of the CIO, while the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is on the hunt for an enterprise application and data chief (IT Manager II).
The former position would report to the director of the CDCR’s Enterprise Information Services (EIS) and would be responsible for “planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling” the agency’s Office of the Chief Information Officer.
Desirable qualifications for the candidates include familiarity with the state budget process; project management and leadership skills; and knowledge of state policies, rules and standards relative to IT.
In the job posting, the department describes itself as one of “the nation’s largest and most diverse correctional departments,” emphasizing its focus on successfully reintegrating incarcerated individuals back into their communities.
The salary for this hybrid role is between $10,734 and $13,048 monthly. The final filing date for the post is March 11.
The open DSH position, meanwhile, would serve under the direction of the chief technology officer and will be responsible for “planning, organizing and directing the work of multiple information technology units.”
The posting cites a need for candidates to align and balance a complex workload associated with the Employer Health Record (EHR) and related products; develop business strategies and road maps for EHR-related product lines; partner with the enterprise architecture team; as well as other duties.
The department describes its mission as providing “evaluation and treatment in a safe and responsible manner, seeking innovation and excellence in hospital operations, across a continuum of care and settings.”
