The California Department of Technology (CDT) is hosting an event this week intended to gather vendors’ input to Vision 2023, the state’s IT strategic plan.
The plan will serve as the blueprint for how the state will use technology to “provide simple, clear, fast and dependable public services; increase equity, inclusion and opportunity for all Californians; and make California a leading example of what the government should look like in the 21st century,” according to a CDT announcement of the event.
The virtual event runs from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, and attendance is free. Information and registration links are available online.
State IT leaders have solicited input from IT and non-IT executives and managers across state agencies and departments, as well as from members of the legislative and judicial branches and local governments. Now, it’s the industry’s opportunity to have a voice in the state’s plans.
“We are interested in the technology community’s input into how we can achieve these goals by working together,” CDT says.
Before the event, registrants will receive more detail about what CDT hopes to glean from the Vision 2023 event. They’ll also receive a link to a public vendor survey and a link to a facilitated session.
By state statute, the CDT director (state Chief Information Officer Amy Tong) is required to deliver the plan to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee by Jan. 15 every year.
