“Chris' extensive experience serving government agencies in Sacramento made him an obvious choice for us. He has had long, successful tenures with Verizon, Equinix and SHI International, delivering on important projects for the IT leadership teams of many agencies,” Chainguard National Sales Director John Punzak said in an email. “We were looking for someone who is trusted by their customers to understand their needs and bring IT solutions that offer real value.”
The young but rapidly growing company has its sights set on growing within the California SLED market, offering solutions that ensure the security of software artifacts through the development and deployment life cycle. The tools offer “hardened, minimal and continuously updated container images for open source software,” to help organizations stay ahead of crippling attacks such as Log4Shell, SolarWinds and Heartbleed, Punzak said.
“With the adoption of open source software and the growing threat of software supply chain attacks, public sector agencies need to ensure not just that their code is secure, but that every component they use — internal or third-party — is trustworthy and up to date,” he said. ”Chainguard delivers tools, practices and expertise to make this possible at scale, eliminating the need for manual remediation performed by IT staff.”
