CIO Academy Award Nominations Due Today


To be awarded on Feb. 24 – 25, e.Republic is now accepting nominations for the California CIO Academy IT Leadership Awards.

Nominations will be accepted by public sector agencies until January 23, 2015.  Please see more information below and send paperwork to Rebecca Friedman, rfriedman@govtech.com.

2015 California Public Sector CIO Academy Awards

  • The California CIO Academy IT Leadership Award
  • California Public CIO of the Year – given to the CIO who demonstrates vision and leadership (1);
  • California Public CTO of the Year – given to the CTO who demonstrates vision and leadership (1);
The California CIO Academy IT Leadership Award is a chance for you to honor an IT manager or supervisor in your organization; the individual you select will receive the award. This award recognizes the person in your organization who, over the last year, demonstrated exceptional leadership, customer service and public stewardship through:
• Leading a team
• Serving the organization
• Implementing innovative solutions
• Serving constituents

Nominations should include the following information:
1. Name of the recipient
2. Job Title
3. Organization
4. Phone number and email
5. A statement (no more than 150 words) of accomplishments
Note: Large agencies or departments may select up to 3 individuals.

California CIO of the Year & California CTO of the Year recognize an outstanding public sector Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer who exemplifies the following attributes:
• Demonstrates outstanding leadership;
• Develops future IT leaders;
• Develops innovative solutions to help your organization achieve its goals;
• Creates an outstanding technology organization; and
• Creates strategies to promote information sharing and collaboration among government organizations.

The CIO of the Year and CTO of the Year will be chosen by a selection panel of the CIO Academy Advisory Board. Nominations should include the following information:
1. Subject Line for Email: California CIO or CTO of the Year Nomination
2. Name of Nominee
3. Job Title
4. Organization
5. Nominee contact information
6. Nominator’s name, job title, organization, and contact information
7. A statement (no more than 750 words) of why this individual should be recognized as the California CIO or CTO of the Year
8. A statement of the greatest accomplishment this year (2014 – no more than 250 words)
