THE CALIFORNIA CIO ACADEMY IT LEADERSHIP AWARD
is a chance to honor an IT manager or supervisor in your organization. This award recognizes the person in your organization who, over the last year, demonstrated exceptional leadership, customer service and public stewardship through:

  • Leading a team
  • Serving the organization
  • Implementing innovative solutions
  • Serving constituents
Selections should include the following information:

  1. Name
  2. Job Title
  3. Organization
  4. Award winner’s phone number
  5. Award winner’s email address
  6. A statement (no more than 100 words) of accomplishments
Note: Large agencies or departments may select up to 3 individuals.


THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC CIO OF THE YEAR & 
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC CTO OF THE YEAR recognize an outstanding public sector Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer who exemplifies the following attributes:

  • Demonstrates outstanding leadership;
  • Develops future IT leaders;
  • Develops innovative solutions to help your organization achieve its goals;
  • Creates an outstanding technology organization; and
  • Creates strategies to promote information sharing and collaboration among government organizations.

The CIO of the Year and CTO of the Year will be chosen by a selection panel of the CIO Academy Advisory Board. Nominations should include the following information:

  1. Selection of either CIO or CTO of the Year Nomination
  2. Name
  3. Job Title
  4. Organization
  5. Nominee’s phone number
  6. Nominee’s email address
  7. Nominator’s name, job title, organization, and contact information
  8. A statement (no more than 500 words) of why this individual should be recognized as the California CIO or CTO of the Year
  9. A statement of the greatest accomplishment this year (2015 - no more than 250 words)
 

HALL OF FAME candidates should have demonstrated commitment, dedication and effective leadership in the use of information technology to advance the internal and external business operations of California government organizations. 

Such things as integrity, efforts above and beyond normal duties, innovative ideas and exemplification of the “Eureka” spirit will be taken into consideration.  To be eligible for membership, a candidate must have a minimum of 10-years involvement with California government organizations and must not be a current member of the California Information Technology Hall of Fame Nomination Committee.


All nominations must come from the public sector and are due to Rebecca Friedman, rfriedman@govtech.com by January 26, 2016 (recently extended from January 20, 2016).
