CIOs from L.A. County to Headline Member Briefing

“Our goal is to facilitate meaningful discussions between L.A. County IT leaders and industry partners to help both sides work together and deliver results,” said Mike Driessen, vice president of Subscription Services for Industry Insider parent e.Republic.

Industry Insider — California is presenting a live Member Briefing in Los Angeles County next month, offering an opportunity for industry members to hear from top tech leaders in the sprawling jurisdiction.

The upcoming briefing, scheduled for June 22, will feature chief information officers from three L.A. County departments:

Bhullar was awarded Government Technology magazine’s CIO of the Year at the 2023 L.A. IT Leadership Forum.

    Michael J. Sylvester II, CIO and assistant department head for the L.A. County Department of Social Services. Since September, Sylvester II has served as the acting chief deputy of administration, responsible for overseeing the technology, finance, contracts, programs and services for the largest social services agency in the nation. He has helped transform the department into a forward-looking, agile and technologically advanced organization, and the department has achieved numerous awards for innovation and technology advancement.

County IT leadership briefings and give our industry members an opportunity to hear directly from CIOs about their IT priorities and plans,” said Mike Driessen, vice president of Subscription Services for e.Republic, parent company of Industry Insider. “L.A. County is comprised of 37 departments, 112,000 employees and has a total annual budget of over $42 billion, so needless to say, it can be complex to understand and navigate.”

Industry Insider’s previous briefings in Los Angeles County have drawn high attendance and participation, and the events include a question-and-answer period for vendors to query chief information officers, chief technology officers and other IT leaders.

The L.A. County briefing is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 22 at the Hacienda Heights Community Center. The briefing is open to members of Industry Insider. More details about the event as well as a registration link can be found online.
