The Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) will meet Sept. 26-29 in Rancho Mirage. The four-day agenda includes a daily general session with keynotes for each, in addition to 28 hourlong breakout sessions where other members, vendors and suppliers will engage, learn and network. The conference will also feature a 90-booth exhibit hall where IT vendors display and discuss their products and interact with attendees.
Three of the conference sessions will focus on public safety:
- “9-1-1 Branch Update” will feature Paul Troxel, 911 Program Management Division chief for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), who will provide an overview of current projects OES has been working on in their office including a full update on the NG 911 deployment.
- “Cyber Incident Support – Law Enforcement Edition” will feature Alison Yakabe, lead cyber intelligence analyst for the county of San Mateo. She will cover lessons learned from law enforcement cyber incident support in Northern California.
- “Fundamentals of CJIS and CLETS Compliance and Cybersecurity from Different Perspectives” will feature a panel discussion, with attendees hearing different perspectives from a city manager (Armando Villa of Menifee), a chief information officer/IT director (Ron Puccinelli, also from Menifee), law enforcement (Greg Park from Livermore) and audit/compliance (Donald Hester from Livermore) as it relates to CJIS and CLETS Compliance and cybersecurity.
The president of MISAC is Hong Sae, chief information officer for the city of Roseville.
