The city of Sacramento will save tens of thousands of staff hours and $500,000 in annual operational costs after switching to a new EMC based document management system, the corporate IT firm announced on Monday.
The new EMC platform, implemented earlier this year, allowed the city to overhaul its legislative review and document handling processes, creating more transparency. The automated system allows the city to post council materials on its website within hours of being completed, and will make it easier to respond to Public Records Act requests, according to the announcement.
“By converging services, technology and information, we can better connect citizens and government to improve our customer’s experience,” said City Clerk Shirley Concolino in a statement.
