City technology directors to converge in Monterey at 10th annual MISAC conference on Oct. 2-4

City IT directors, managers and other high-level IT professionals are preparing to attend the 10th annual conference hosted by the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC). The conference is being held in Monterey next week starting on Sunday, October 2. Nearly 250 local officials and tech company representatives are registered to attend.

Event organizers view the 10th conference as a celebration of the “IT decade” where information technology emerged as a key player in government operations, says Ken Desforges, conference chair and director of information systems for the City of Diamond Bar.

As mentioned in its 2010-11 Strategic Plan, the Association’s goals include developing and maintaining regular communications with the State of California, increasing its overall membership by 15 percent and starting a vendor partner program, among other things.

Pre-registration is required to attend. More details can be found here.
