The California Employment Development Department has awarded a $16 million contract to Fast Enterprises, Inc. for software support services as part of the department’s new accounting and collection system, an EDD spokesperson said
The Employment Development Department will use GenTax as the software for the department’s Automated Collection Enhancement System (ACES) integrated accounting and collection system, EDD spokesperson Loree Levy said in a recent email. Fast Enterprises, Inc. (FAST), will provide support services for the system, including support and maintenance of the application infrastructure, support of the GenTax code, and training for EDD staff to perform regular functions and maintenance on the system.
"Only FAST has the authority, access and expertise to provide on-site support services for their proprietary product," Levy said.
The ACES system, implemented in January, 2011, replaced the legacy Tax Accounting System in an effort to provide new e-services, including account management, payment processing and support services, for businesses. The new system has resulted in more than $200 million in revenue, according to Levy.
