Ohanian oversees one of the largest collections of critical information in the country. The Center for Data Insights and Innovation was established to advance agency data initiatives and help turn data into insights, knowledge and action.

Before joining CHHS, Ohanian spent 30 years working to help businesses and nonprofits develop new organizational data systems, secure critical funding, incorporate social enterprise strategies and solve complex problems. Ohanian is a strategic leader in community engagement, government relations, systems integration and change management.
In his position leading the newly created CDII office, Ohanian is focused on identifying ways to collect better quality data to close disparities, innovate more efficient processes and help ensure equitable distribution of resources to all Californians. His personal mission is finding new ways to assist California’s most vulnerable individuals, families and communities.
Ohanian received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego and attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, where he earned his certification for Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management.
