Cheryl Miles, a veteran of the public and private sectors in IT, has joined Databricks as an Enterprise Account Executive, working in the state and local government and higher-education markets.

“Just like in other sectors, data teams here are leveraging unified data analytics across the end-to-end data and machine learning life cycle to get the most value from all their data,” Miles told Techwire. “I’m energized to be a part of a team that impacts this vital and necessary work that impacts how we live.”

Databricks is an inventor of data and machine learning technologies.

Miles’ previous affiliations in the private sector include Infodata Systems, Computer Resources Group, Delegata, Eclipse Solutions, CGI and, most recently, MarkLogic. She’s also done consulting in the pharmaceutical and oil industries.

In the public sector, Miles was a staffer in the state Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

“I was a state employee working for Teri Takai in the OCIO’s office,” Miles said. “She ‘donated’ me to to the Governor’s Office to represent OCIO on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act committee. … I’m really proud of what we achieved in a short period of time.”
