Jeff Funk, chief information officer for the California Department of Fish and Game, has been appointed CIO for the Department of General Services, according to DGS.

Funk will begin working in the position starting March 20, DGS reported today. He brings to the position 25 years experience in the IT industry and 15 years experience working with state and local government. Funk has worked for the past three years in his position at Fish and Game, according to DGS.
State and Consumer Services Agency Chief Information Officer Andrew Armani had been acting in the DGS CIO position during the recruitment effort.
