The California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) is seeking an IT technical security engineer (IT Specialist II) to support the protection of mission-critical systems and data by developing Information Security and Privacy (ISP) policies, processes, standards and guidelines.

CalVCB is a state program dedicated to providing financial assistance to victims of crime.

According to the job posting, the engineer will assist in managing information security risks and provide support on security program governance, vulnerability management, log management, security continuous monitoring and software supply chain management. They will work mainly for the Information Security Office.

Candidates should have experience in:

The California Highway Patrol is seeking candidates for an IT Specialist II position. The incumbent will be responsible for performing a wide variety of project management tasks by demonstrating leadership and expertise in providing oversight for complex IT projects and providing expert advice and project coordination, mentoring and consulting.

“This position will also aid the department in complying with control agency reporting requirements, project management framework requirements, and California Statewide Information Management Manual requirements,” the job posting says. “In addition, this position has responsibility and authority for decision-making and providing assistance on project prioritization and resource allocation. The State Controller’s Office (SCO) is recruiting for an Information Security Program supervisor (IT Supervisor II) to serve in a lead role, performing a range of management and technical duties related to the Enterprise Information Security Program.

Responsibilities of the position include collaborating and consulting with key partners throughout SCO, overseeing team performance and deliverables and ensuring that the team’s actions align with the larger goals of the SCO and the chief information security officer (CISO). Additional duties, according to the job posting, include:
  • Supervise the design, implementation and evaluation of SCO’s information security standards, guidelines, recommendations, procedures, initiatives and processes to ensure ongoing maintenance of security and consistency with state and federal laws, rules, regulations and best practices
