Ed Synergy: High Demand for ICT Workers Continues

The Economic & Workforce Development Sector Profile for the Information and Communication Technologies Sector reported there were 68,000 online job postings in California for ICT occupations in the last four months.

According to Tom Burns, President Enterprise Solutions Division, Alcatel-Lucent: "In the 21st century, we live in knowledge and information economies where Information and Communication Technologies are essential strategic elements for success. We need to support educator efforts to develop competent technicians to implement and maintain key ICT infrastructure and support systems."

Research shows a person with a CTE-related associate degree or credential will earn between $5,000 and $15,000 more a year than a person with a humanities or social sciences associate degree – and those with credentials in high-demand fields can average almost $20,000 more a year.
