EDD Answers Vendors’ Questions About Claims Management Initiative

Industry members posed more than 90 queries about the Employment Development Department’s interest in an Integrated Claims Management System, which would be part of the EDDNext modernization.

The Employment Development Department has replied to the questions posed by industry technologists after a recent virtual vendors’ conference about a broad new initiative that’s being considered as part of the EDDNext project.

In a request for information issued last month, EDD asked for vendor input about an Integrated Claims Management System (ICMS), “a modernized solution to deliver efficient workforce insurance programs and services.”

As Industry Insider — California recently reported: “A major goal of the solution is to provide an exceptional customer experience while simultaneously empowering the department to make informed, effective decisions within federal and state regulatory compliance. The objective is to do market research that helps the department investigate alternatives to modernized solutions, to provide efficient workforce insurance programs and services.” Interested companies were asked to describe potential products or solutions that would help EDD address its needs.

Interested companies had until Sept. 26 to submit questions to EDD about the initiative, to which answers were posted earlier this month. In all, vendors posted more than 90 questions, and EDD posted replies to all.

Responses to the RFI are due by 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and will be evaluated Nov. 8, according to EDD.
