Business Application Support Specialist (IT Specialist I)
$6,323-$10,230 per month

The incumbent will be part of EDD’s Business Application Services Engineering group, which provides services on a cloud platform in support of multi-tier architecture and multiplatform applications to administer benefits. The specialist supports the design of modern application integration architectures, business application services and the organization’s enterprise IT operations.

Key duties of the role include:
  • Performing complex technical tasks in support of the Infrastructure Support Division’s lines of business; serving as system lead on a rotating basis with other engineers
  • Providing technical specialist-level knowledge, leadership and mentoring in the area of business application hosting test and production environments
  • Designing modern application integration architectures, including development products, implementation, functional specifications, application testing and production migration for departments’ business applications at both EDD and California Department of Technology data centers
  • Resolving complex problems in the department’s application hosting environments; ensuring resolved problems are documented

Test Automation Specialist (IT Specialist I)
$6,323-$10,230 per month

The incumbent will serve as a technical testing analyst in EDD’s Product Development Division Enterprise Testing Office (ETO) Technical Team, responsible for supporting the ETO Technical Tier group. Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Providing support as the subject matter expert with scripting and execution of automation scripts for data setup for projects and regression testing for environments
  • Participating in analysis and maintenance-of-process improvements of automation, new test efforts, technical guides and user guides
  • Supporting the performance test team utilizing LoadRunner Enterprise and other performance testing management tools for execution and analysis; participating in scripting performance scenarios using VuGen
  • Providing analysis using the Application Lifecycle Management tool and other testing tools to manage, track and coordinate technical resolution requests

IT/Cybersecurity Specialist (IT Specialist I)
$6,323-$10,230 per month

Working in DIR’s Information Security Office, the specialist is responsible for assessing and managing vulnerabilities in DIR IT assets and penetration testing applications before and after applications are in production. The specialist handles the management, coordination and mitigation of all types of IT security risks found through IT audits and the security risk analysis process.

The incumbent will receive the majority of assignments from the IT manager and chief information officer. Duties include:
  • Managing, assessing and assisting with mitigation of vulnerabilities found on all DIR IT assets on the DIR network
  • Overseeing security of all DIR applications and using the App Sec tool to create accounts, app profiles and security policies
  • Interpreting scan results to assist DIR software developers and application administrators
  • Assuming responsibility for the penetration testing of web-facing applications and work with vendors to decipher and interpret vulnerabilities and reports
