The CalJOBS website for both job seekers and employers in California has been redesigned, the California Employment Development Department (EDD) announced this week.
“This is an exciting redesign of a valuable online resource for all job seekers and employers in California," said Pam Harris, EDD Director, in an EDD press release.
CalJOBS was launched last month so that potential employers could post job openings and search for qualified candidates, while job seekers could post their resumes and search for specific types of jobs.
According to Harris, the redesign includes more specifically targeted job searches and information on education and training programs, as well as resources for veterans and people with disabilities looking for work.
The new website also includes equal access for Spanish speakers and the visually impaired, along with improved job and labor market tracking.
All individuals receiving Unemployment Insurance are federally required to register for work with the state employment service; in California, individuals must register with CalJOBS and maintain an active resume on the site.
