The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking candidates for two specialty roles, one in IT procurement and the other in cybersecurity and fraud.

Senior Cybersecurity and Fraud Engineer (IT Specialist II)
$8,374-$11,220 per month

EDD’s IT Cybersecurity Division is seeking a lead subject matter expert to play a crucial role in the Cybersecurity Operations and Fraud Center. Duties of the role include performing advanced IT systems engineering tasks to address security and fraud-related issues as well as the following:
  • Conducting security risk assessments, audits and vulnerability testing, as well as leading cybersecurity investigations, forensic analysis and incident response
  • Drafting and maintaining technical documentation, providing leadership and mentoring to technical staff and effectively communicating as a technical project lead
  • Demonstrating expert technical skills in Linux enterprise infrastructure environments, cybersecurity tools, fraud detection and the ability to mentor and guide technical teams

IT Procurement Specialist (IT Specialist I)
$6,323-$10,230 per month

The IT procurement specialist “performs the more complex and sensitive procurement tasks that will require regular innovative problem solving within broadly stated guidelines.” Responsibilities of the role include leadership in developing, planning, organizing, coordinating and maintaining oversight of tasks including:
  • Developing procurement documents, including solicitations, work authorizations, amendments and related materials
  • Analyzing and evaluating complex IT solicitations and vendor responses
  • Acting as a liaison between the department and both internal and external entities
