EDD Seeks Business Intelligence Data Warehousing Developer

Applicants should have experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration, as well as database design and modeling and knowledge of APIs and gateways.

The Employment Development Department has opened recruitment for a business intelligence data warehousing developer (IT Specialist I) to serve as a data conversion analyst for EDD’s Business Intelligence Data Warehousing Group.

“The incumbent represents the interest of EDD’s program customers, department goals and IT Branch directives in developing new Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities which lead to cost savings, improved analytical decision making and faster response times for external and internal information requests,” the job posting says.

Among the many desirable qualifications cited in the job posting are these:
  • Microsoft SQL Server database administration hands-on skills supporting a production database in all operations, such as troubleshooting daily operational issues.
  • Database design and modeling, and knowledge of APIs and gateways.
  • Experience developing in various cloud environments (public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud).
  • Ability to create scripts using VB Script, Batch Language, Python and Microsoft PowerShell.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
