The Employment Development Department is seeking a “highly motivated individual” to fill the role of manager (IT Manager II) over the Privacy and Integrated Risk Management Office, working in the Cybersecurity Division.

The manager governs and manages the risk management program, privacy program, policy development program and incident response program and reports to the Cybersecurity Division chief. According to the job posting, the responsibilities of the role include:
  • Security policy, compliance management and oversight to ensure EDD develops and maintains the documentation for state and federal audits and submits periodic compliance certifications.
  • Security risk and integrated risk management and oversight to develop and maintain a complete risk management program with a risk budget, assessments, and risk corrective action plans prioritized and communicated with executives and stakeholders.
  • Privacy and Integrated Risk Management Office oversight to manage stakeholder engagement related to contracts, data sharing agreements, privacy risks and data breach notifications.

Desirable qualifications for the position include:
  • Practical experience with succession planning and workforce development.
  • Ability to work under pressure due to deadlines, changes in staff or budget resources, or organizational changes.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing cooperative relationships with diverse business partners.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively in front of a group.
  • Experience with planning, distributing and evaluating the work of others.
