Angela Basi, who’s been with Ernst & Young LLP for more than 20 years, has been named head of the professional services company’s Sacramento office.

In her new role, Basi will be responsible for “continuing to develop strong relationships with community, government, and business leaders across Sacramento and fostering an inclusive culture and exceptional client service,” according to a company spokesperson. “She has two decades of risk assurance experience helping clients operate in an increasingly complex regulatory environment and providing value-driven solutions. Basi is passionate about working with government and public sector organizations to help them navigate new challenges and better meet the needs of the Californians they serve.”

In her new role, which takes effect Thursday, Basi succeeds Christopher J. Obmann, who has just retired after 32 years with EY.

Basi, who transferred to Sacramento from San Jose in 2005, has been committed to diversity and inclusiveness and community engagement throughout her career, the company spokesperson said. Basi has led the EY Professional Women’s Network in Sacramento for the past seven years and served on the Board of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Northern California, she lives in Rocklin with her husband and two children. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and management information systems from California State University at Chico.
