FI$Cal Seeking Vendors’ Ideas for ‘Enhanced Data Loss Solutions’

The Financial Information System for California is planning a Vendor Day for May 31. Interested tech vendors must first answer a series of questions in order to be invited to participate.

The Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) is planning a Vendor Day for May 31 with the theme “Enhanced Data Loss Solutions.”

FI$Cal holds periodic vendor forums as a way of outlining its planned technology needs to vendors and soliciting information, proposals and other feedback from the industry. The events have become increasingly popular with large state agencies — including the departments of Technology, Motor Vehicles, and General Services — as a way to reach a broad industry audience.

FI$Cal’s event this month is by invitation only. Vendors who are potentially interested in the theme must first go to FI$Cal’s application page and answer a series of questions about topics including their company, their specialty, their eligibility for state contracts, and whether they’ve previously done business with a government agency. Applicants are also asked to describe their solution to the need and whether the solution is cloud-based.

“We will review your submission, and if your solution aligns with our business needs, you will be invited to present your product and/or service,” FI$Cal says in its announcement. “Note: Vendor day events are not open to the public, only invited vendors will be allowed to attend.”

To be considered for an invitation to the event, vendors must apply by Wednesday. For more information, email vendorday@fiscal.ca.gov.
