
The department is seeking a Deputy Director for Business Operations and Solutions (Career Executive Assignment) to oversee and “provide guidance and direction on FI$Cal system functionality and the state’s financial management processes. In addition, this position will oversee the consultation and education for FI$Cal customer departments and to assist them with month-end and year-end close activities.”
Desirable qualifications, according to the job posting, include:
- An understanding of the vision, goals, and objectives for the Department of FI$Cal.
- Knowledge of principles of project management and complexities of business transformation projects when implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution.

The second position is that of Chief Counsel, and the department is specifically seeking someone able to handle “the most complex legal issues related to IT contracts, conflicts of interest, human resources, regulations and policies.”
“This position oversees procurements, negotiation of contracts, handles confidential personnel matters, drafts department policies and works with the legislative office,” the job posting says.
The desirable qualifications include:
- Management skills and experience, including techniques of leading, motivating, and developing staff.
- Experience and knowledge of employment law and personnel management issues, state contract law and procedures, and the Public Records Act.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Experience dealing effectively with other organizations inside and outside a department on complex or publicly sensitive issues.
