First 5 California (F5CA) has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) from certified small business vendors capable of providing IT technical and support services.
The agency, also known as the California Children and Families Commission, was created in 1998 through Proposition 10 and a 50-cent tax on each pack of cigarettes sold. Its mission, according to the website, is to provide children and their families with a “comprehensive system of education, health services, childcare, and other crucial programs.”
The RFQ seeks a Department of General Services-certified small business “to augment, assess, develop, plan, and implement information technology (IT) technical and support services.” F5CA cites declining administrative resources, revenues and post-pandemic workforce challenges as drivers for the support services in question.
“F5CA relies on contracted support services to ensure critical IT infrastructure is supported to maintain business operations. F5CA intends to fill its position vacancies but requires temporary technical staffing support to provide day-to-day administration, operation, maintenance, and oversight of its technology infrastructure,” the RFQ reads.
The RFQ was initially published Sept. 18, and has a deadline of Sept. 30. The point of contact for this solicitation is Erlynn Cardenas-Jackson.
