Fortinet Promotes Ureta in Major Accounts Management

Ureta, who's been with Fortinet for four years, continues building its presence "one relationship at a time," focusing in part this year on keeping remote work secure.

Fortinet has promoted Eric Ureta from Major Accounts Manager 2 to Major Accounts Manager 3. He’ll continue to focus on building the company’s presence “one relationship at a time” in California, Nevada and at the University of California at Davis, according to LinkedIn.

Ureta, who joined Sunnyvale-based Fortinet in May 2016, served most recently as director of business development/sales manager at Sacramento Technology Group, where he managed a sales team and worked with customers across industries, with a focus on education and health care. Previous to that, he was at Cadence Design Systems from 2004 to 2014, including nearly five years as senior major account executive, managing a global account sales team.

At Fortinet this year, Ureta has been “busy trying to make sure remote work forces are secure,” he told Techwire via email.

Ureta holds a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Sacramento, with focuses on management, marketing and support services. He also completed Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) training in levels 1, 2 and 3; and Cadence Account Executive Technical Certification, during his time at Cadence Design Systems.

In his spare time, Ureta, who lives with his family in the Sacramento area, volunteers as a youth sports coach in sports including soccer and basketball.
