“I am excited to drive constituent impact for the agencies that I work with,” Parsons told Industry Insider — California. “I want to focus on empowering organizations to be more effective, efficient, and drive meaningful outcomes for the individuals they serve. I have eight years of experience with Gartner in the private sector, working with CIOs and their teams. My organizational expertise and experience with those leaders will help me deliver value to my communities in California.”
Parsons’ new role marks a return to Gartner. He began with the company as an account management intern, according to his LinkedIn profile, then advanced to account manager for mid-size enterprise in health care and life sciences. From there, he was named account executive for large enterprise, and then senior account executive. He then joined Slalom as a sales executive before returning to Gartner in his current role.
Parsons explained why he chose to return to Gartner: “This recent career change is driven by a personal desire to feel more civic efficacy,” he said.
Parsons is an alumnus of the University of Central Florida, where he studied interpersonal and organization communication and marketing/marketing management. There, he was active in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, concert band and cheerleading team. He has been a volunteer with Altamonte Special Needs Recreation, and he’s an FAA-certified pilot of single-engine aircraft.
