“I am excited about my new role because I will be able to help grow Gartner’s expanding footprint in the state of California by leading new talent to serve the CA state HHS community,” Ballard told Industry Insider — California in an email. “I will continue to work with the public sector, helping them overcome some of their biggest IT challenges, address some of their biggest priorities, and provide insights to strengthen their decision-making.”
Before joining Gartner in April 2021, Ballard had been senior vice president for e.Republic, the Folsom-based media, research and events company that produces Industry Insider — California, Government Technology, Governing and other publications. During her 21 years with the company, she rose through the ranks to the senior vice president role.
When she joined Gartner in 2021, she said that doing so allowed her “to focus 100 percent of my efforts on helping public-sector IT leadership in my home state of California, which I love very much.”
Gartner has more than 100 experts devoted to the public-sector government team, and its teams in Northern and Southern California work with government agencies “to make the right decisions, stay ahead of change, lead transformation and be proactive across all functions of the entire leadership team.”
Ballard said she’s excited about her new role. She posted on her LinkedIn profile: “I am proud to work for a company that is continuously recognized as a great place to work. For the ninth consecutive year, Gartner has been proudly named among the world’s most admired organizations.”
She told Industry Insider: “I love the partnerships Gartner continues to build, and being a bigger part of it now is exactly where I hoped I would be when I came here three years ago.”
Ballard attended California State University, Sacramento. In her free time, she volunteers as a board member with Hope to Walk, which provides prostheses to amputees in developing countries.
