“I am very excited to take the culmination of my knowledge in advising governments about what they should do with technology and now roll up my sleeves to comprehensively support them with getting the great work done,” Mendonsa told Industry Insider — California in an email.
In her new role, Mendonsa “helps leaders to establish digital vision and incorporate emerging technologies to execute a digital strategy that reimagines citizen service delivery models and delivers on the promise of Exponential IT,” the company said in a statement. “She supports clients with critical initiatives such as enterprise application modernization and digital transformation,” and her role also includes cultivating leadership among chief information officers, other government tech leaders, and their teams.
Before her tenure as an award-winning analyst for Gartner, Mendonsa served chief information and technology officers and their teams as an executive partner within Gartner Executive Programs for over nine years. She focused on supporting CIOs and their teams in developing and executing strategies for IT organization, governance, executive communication and organizational change management.
Her career in digital government best practices began as the research director for the Center for Digital Government*, where she oversaw the delivery of much of the Center’s research, including its custom research and advisory services programs. That included a broad spectrum of technology initiatives and verticals including strategy, applications, policy and funding drivers in transportation, finance, health and human services, and tax and revenue. She is also a prolific author and speaker.
“There’s never been a more exciting time to be part of government’s transformation in a digital society,” Mendonsa said, “and I feel fortunate to be working in the arena with so many great government leaders, leveraging the incredible thought leadership and practical tools offered at Info-Tech.”
Mendonsa, based in the Santa Barbara-Santa Maria area, is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in technology entrepreneurship and management.
