The California Health and Human Services eHealth Initiative will be hosting the California Health Information Exchange (HIE) Stakeholder Summit on Nov. 14 and 15 at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West.
The event is intended for those working in consumer advocacy organizations, hospitals, academic institutions EHR and HIE vendors, state and local government, and others whose work involves health care information.
According to the eHealth Initiative website, "All over California, programs aimed at ensuring critical patient information is available when and where it is needed are in various stages of development. This final statewide summit is aimed at keeping the momentum going."
The main objectives for the meeting will be to examine what has been accomplished as a result of (ARRA) funding and the changing role of the state in HIE.
The summit will be composed of a networking reception 5:30-7 pm on Thursday, Nov. 14 and the main program 8 am-4:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 15.
Speakers for the main program will include Deputy Secretary Health Information Exchange for CHHS Pamela Lane, Chief of Public Health Informatics at the Center for Health Statistics and Informatics at the California Department of Public Health Scott Christman, CEO of San Joaquin General Hospital Dave Culbertson, and CEO and founder of Pronoia HealthTech and the Open Library for HIE Alesha Adamson.
Medical doctors and public health professors and leaders will also be participating in the panels.
