Here Are CHP’s 5 Biggest Buys of IT Goods in 2021

The single largest purchase was more than $8.1 million for Panasonic Toughbook tablets, which the CHP purchased June 9 through CDW-G through a California Multiple Award Schedules contract.

The California Highway Patrol has spent just over $11 million total for its five largest purchases of IT goods so far in 2021.

The single largest purchase was more than $8.1 million for Panasonic Toughbook tablets, which the CHP purchased June 9 through CDW-G through a California Multiple Award Schedules contract.

The next-largest buy of IT goods was for nearly $1.5 million for cameras, purchased June 9 through PCS Mobile on a statewide contract.

A renewal of the agency’s CiscoSmartNet tech support service cost nearly $917,000, purchased May 28 through SLED IT Solutions in a cooperative agreement.

The fourth-largest purchase of IT goods was for more than $571,000 for Hewlett Packard Enterprise “break/fix” data center support, purchased Feb. 22 from ePlus in an informal competitive bid.

The fifth-largest purchase was for a one-year OracleJava SE desktop licensing and support subscription, for which CHP paid Taborda Solutions nearly $189,000 through the Software Licensing Program (SLP).
