Through June 30, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) made more than 100 purchases of IT goods, with its five costliest going to two familiar vendors. So far this year, CalOES has made 141 purchases of IT goods and spent $12,881,350 on its five most expensive buys. Here, with rounding, is what that money paid for, based on data in the State Contract and Procurement Registration System:
- $5.7 million with AT&T Corp. for “RapidDeploy Edge – Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) analytics,” a roughly two-year contract that began Jan. 25 and ends Jan. 31, 2023. That’s most likely a reference to RapidDeploy’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) platform in the cloud. AT&T has provided PSAP access to that platform since the two companies began working together in 2018.
- $3.5 million with Allied Network Solutions Inc. for “Con-Ce Engineer.” CalOES made the purchase May 18. It made a similar purchase from the company for “Year 2: Con-Ce Engineer (~720 hours/month)” on May 4 for $649,308.
- $1.3 million with AT&T for “RapidDeploy Software Radius to Radius Plus Upgrade,” probably a reference to the Radius Mapping service. The Office made the purchase April 28.
- $1.3 million with AT&T for “RapidDeploy Software Radius to Radius Plus Upgrade.” The office made the purchase June 2.
- $1.1 million with Motorola Solutions Inc. for “GTR8000 ESS Phase II 4 Voice Channels System,” likely a reference to the company’s GTR 8000 base radio and expandable site subsystem. CalOES made the purchase June 10.
