Here Are FI$Cal’s Top Buys for IT Goods for September

The state’s unified accounting, budget, cash management and procurement IT system spent nearly $1 million on the top five of its seven purchases of IT goods in September. In precise numbers, the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) paid $965,851.40 in those five instances added up. Here, with rounding, is more on what it purchased:

• $830,000 with Dynamic Systems Inc. for “Oracle Hardware Maintenance & Support Renewal,” with a contract of indeterminate length that began Sept. 29. No end dates are listed for any of these contracts.

• $94,000 with Lincoln-based Patriot IT Corp. for “BIG-IQ Service: Premium CAT SW35 F5-BIQ-CE-MAX,” with a contract that began Sept. 10. That’s likely the purchase of a centralized management system to enhance visibility and control.

• $32,000 with Irvine-based Tevora Business Solutions Inc. for “Digital Guardian Management Console Server 7x24 Maintenance and Support (Full Support),” in a pact that began Sept. 10. As the name implies, that’s likely a reference to a solution by Digital Guardian, ranked a 2017 leader by Gartner Magic Quadrant.

• $6,600 with Roseville-based Taborda Solutions Inc. for “Red Hat Maintenance and Support Renewal, 1-Year, Part #: RH00845RN FY 20/21 Contract 202311,” in an agreement that began Sept. 18 and appears to be for the duration of one year. Per the part number, this may involve Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers with smart management.

• $3,000 with British company Powtoon Ltd. for a “Powtoon Team Package Software Subscription” in an agreement that began Sept. 22. Among its offerings, the company provides cloud-based visual communications tools.
